Born and raised on a small farm/ranch just outside of North Platte, that is still operational with the help of her siblings. “My farming background gives me my “can do” attitude.”
After attending College in Lincoln, she returned home in 1998 to work at a family-owned taxidermy business downtown North Platte. She purchased the business in 2012 and later moved the location to her residence.
Marla is married to Greg and together have three grown children, seven grandchildren and have had 38 foster children over many years.
She has been involved in many community and national organizations including 4-H, Campfire, Nebraska Texas Longhorn Association, past school board member of Platte Valley Dist. 8, past secretary/ treasurer for Dist. 5 at the USPS, served as President of Sables the women’s division of Safari Club International for several years, helped organize the Nebraska Safari Club Convention and fundraiser event.
